Students in grade 5 begin to think more abstractly about the world around them.  Students develop models to explain how matter is made of particles too small to see, how matter is transferred within an ecosystem, and how our entire world works as a system.  Our fifth-grade lessons are designed for students to develop an understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards in grade 5.  Each lesson is a video that guides students through an interactive lesson and a hands-on activity.  Download and complete the FREE worksheet for each lesson! Students will explore by dissolving salt into water and condensing air inside of a syringe. Students also build various molecules out of candy.
